Photographs and Photographs

Hey, hey! So, here comes my first official post of the new project. In the slideshow below, I have posted my pictures from the first day. Unlike Conversely, I believe in using the technologies available to us as liberally as possible, so rather than adhering to some unattainable (and possibly archaic) adage about "raw" photographs, I have attached photographs that have been, let's say "diddled" with, as much as I see/have seen fit.

Anyway, let us know what ones you like (from any of our posts) and we'll get on to the "titles" stage soon.

Raw Photographs III

And finally we have the third collection of unedited, unfiltered, untouched photographs. We begin at the State House and continue, as usual, toward the southeast. There are lots of things of interest here for the writing stage. Pay close attention to the replica of the Liberty Bell. Also, the monument to the women of the Confederacy is, in a word, bizarre. Actually, that doesn't begin to describe it. There are a couple of poems (or something like a poem) on the plaques around the base; we'll most assuredly be using some of that material.

Schwitters has promised to post his pictures from the first day sometime soon. And, for the record, we had some trouble with the camera today and kept taking three pictures at once, which is why there are occasionally a bunch that are very similar all in a row. This step, though, in the rules I've given myself (which Schwitters may very well ignore) is to post them all. We'll call it transparency.

Raw Photographs II

The second batch of photographs is below, though Schwitters is delaying posting the rest of the first batch for some reason. Anyway, this is day two of taking pictures; we're moving further down the road, still southeasterly. In those first few you'll see an historical marker. Those are, in fact, bullet holes. It seems someone wasn't a fan of the New Deal. We have a couple of miles left--we only took one camera this time, so we didn't cover as much ground--including some pretty interesting stuff around the city's state house and university. Like before, if you want to see the album of the photographs here, click on the slideshow.

Raw Photographs

Here's the first batch of pictures we'll be using to make our list of titles. Pretty uninteresting now, but we'd like to document the entire process. Click on the slideshow to see the album. They run Northwest to Southeast. There are about a hundred more already taken that need to be uploaded and we have about five miles left to document.
